About the Founder
Kristi Hines RN, BScN, OHN
Founder & Director
Kristi Pinkney-Hines is a local leader in occupational health and workplace safety, but is widely known across Canada. Kristi has spent almost her whole life in Fort McMurray and began her career as an emergency and trauma nurse. Her passion for occupational health nursing led her to a role at Syncrude where, for eight years, she honed her skills in the field and developed a vision for a new business opportunity.
In 2012, Kristi founded Hines Health Services out of her passion to provide optimal occupational health services with a customeroriented
approach. Under her leadership, Hines Health Services has continued to add services, built a national network of 120 affiliate locations across Canada, and scaled to the international level serving over 5,000 clients. Hines Health Services has established relationships with all levels of government and has municipal, provincial and federal government contracts.
A Registered Nurse, Kristi has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Alberta (collaborative program with Keyano College) and an Occupational Health Nurse Graduate Specialty Diploma (with Distinguished Honours) from St. Lawrence College in Brockville, Ontario. She is an active member of the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce, College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA), Drug and Alcohol Testing Association of Canada (DATAC), and the Alberta Occupational Health Nurses Association.
Kristi is a mother to three children and a dedicated community supporter. Her love for her community and her drive to make it a great place to live, work and play resulted in her partnering with Keyano College and the University of Alberta’s Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing to mentor, teach and evaluate nursing students through a practicum established at Hines Health Services, working with the Brain Injury Network to provide specialized comprehensive care to outpatient community members that would not have access in Fort McMurray and serving on a task force designed to promote health care worker retention in the Wood Buffalo region. She’s also a mentor for the Language Training Program for Apprentices (LTPA), a Board Member for the Community Futures Wood Buffalo, a Board
Member for Habitat for Humanity Wood Buffalo, and a Red Cross advocate.
