Kristi Pinkney-Hines Named One of Your McMurray Magazine’s Top 50 Under 50

Kristi is another born-and-bred, loud-and-proud Fort McMurray resident. Her company, Hines Health Services, is an award-winning company providing occupational health consulting, and testing for industry in the community. In addition, it has taken one of the area’s weaknesses and turned it into a corporate strength.

Recognizing the talent pool in the community is unable to work conventional hours, Hines hires professional mothers who work hours around their life. In this way they can work, care for their families and enjoy their careers. Kristi and her company benefit by getting first choice at all the quality professionals who don’t necessarily fit a nine-to-five job. Kristi also works with the Brain Injury Network, mentors students at Keyano as well as apprentices in the language training program. And she volunteers with Community Futures Wood Buffalo, Habitat for Humanity and she was a recent Girls Inc. Women of Inspiration nominee.

And that’s not even the best part. With the legalization of marijuana imminent, there is a lot of confusion in the workplace as to how this will affect both employers and employees. This is where Kristi steps in. She is now an expert on the subject and has been consulting with businesses and members of the Chamber of Commerce. Hines notes each individual employer is being given the task of setting up their own guidelines for marijuana until the Federal government sets out their own specific outline. Until then, Hines has been making suggestions to drug and alcohol policy as well as responsibilities in the workplace of the workers and management.

Kristi’s training as a nurse is what started her career, but her company has been sustained by her entrepreneurial spirit and her care about doing things right in the community.
